Location of our venue

The venue of the workshop will be the Grand Beguinage of Leuven, a unique, historical part of the city that is listed by the UNESCO as belonging to the World Heritage.

It was completely renovated by the KU Leuven and now houses students and (visiting) faculty and allows for the organization of meetings.

The workshop, including coffee breaks, poster sessions, and exhibitions by sponsors, will happen in the Convent of Chièvres, where also the final reception will be held. Lunches will be in the nearby Faculty Club.

About The ECS Workshops

Every 2 years the European Calcium Society organizes workshops.  These happen in between the years the society has its biennial scientific meeting.

Travel Fellowships

To promote sustainability of our event, we encourage all participants whenever possible to use public transport. Leuven is well served by rail network. The venue site is a 25-minute walk from Leuven train station or a 10-minute bus ride. For intercontinental visitors, a direct train from Brussels Airport to Leuven is available. The Faculty Club has been awarded the “Green Key” label for offering societal, sustainable and environmental meeting solutions.

Thanks to the support of the Company of Biologists ( http://www.biologists.com), we’ll be able to offer 4 travel fellowships to early career researchers making their complete journey to the meeting by train to the venue site. Please highlight this option in the registration form.
